Dive sites

Below the surface, divers will reveal in its lush gardens of brightly coloured fan corals, hundreds of tropical fish, beautiful Wrecks, Caves and Walls.

Punta Cana:

Five to 20 minutes boatrides to 20 different dive sites. Those beautiful dive sites, grown with Corals, Sponges, Canyon style incisions and hundreds of tropical fish, are for all divers easy to dive for beginners up to certified divers.

Depths: from 6 - 25m / 18 - 80ft

Top spot Wreck: Astron

Age: 26 Years

Depth: 0 - 15m / 0 - 50ft

Fauna and Wreck are fantastic. Here divers see the Caribbean and the Atlantic Ocean fauna. The Astron and its gigantic propeller is now the home for Rays and Barracudas.

Top spot Wreck: Monica

Age: 90 Years

Depth: 4 - 14m / 13 - 46ft

 

One of the most beautiful Wrecks in the DR. In many respects the wreck and cargoroom are fully integrated in the Marine Life.

Top spot: Paradise Reef
Depth: 8 - 15m / 26 – 50ft

Amazing rock and coral formations with many hard and soft Corals, Swarms of Fish and with a little bit of luck Nursesharks, Stingrays and Morray eals.

Top spot: Batato

Depth: 5 - 14m / 18 - 46ft


Impressive rock formations with many small passages and Caverns, good chance to see Crayfish, Lobster and Barracudas.

Top spot: La Cueva
Depth: 8 - 13m / 26 – 43ft
 
Reef with many Caverns and Caves to dive. You will often meet Stingrays, Lobster and sometimes Nursesharks.

La Romana - Bayahibe

25 minutes boatride to the different dive sites. Those beautiful dive sites, grown with colourful Corals, Sponges and hundreds of tropical Fish, are for all divers easy^to dive from beginners up to certified divers.
Depths: from 6 - 30m / 18 - 100ft

 

Top spot Wall: Catalina Wall

Depth: 4 - 200m / 13 - 660ft

One of the Caribbean’s most outstanding walls lays a short boat ride from La Romana, hosting of colourful tropical Fish, brambles of black Corals and a variety of Sponges.

Top spot Wreck: St. George

Age: 4 Years

Depth: 25 - 42m / 83 - 140ft

Untill now the St George is not very grown with Coral but it is the home of plenty of Fish.

Top spot Cave: Padre Nustro

Max depth: 10m / 33ft

Maximum distant to air: 50m / 165ft

Tunneldive into a gigantic hall with the size from 9m / 30ft with a lot of Stalagmite and Stalagtite.

Top spot: Reef Dive
Depth: 12 - 15m / 20 - 50ft

Beautiful dive site with colourful underwater vegetation and good visibility. Lots of Corals and Sponges, typically Caribbean.

Juan Dolio-Boca Chica

15 minutes boatride to get to 15 different dive sites. Those beautiful dive sites, grown with colourful Corals, Sponges and hundreds of tropical Fish, are for all divers easy to dive for beginners up to certified divers.
Depths: 10 - 34m / 33 - 110ft

 

Top spot Wreck: Tanya V

Age: 3 Years

Depth: 22 - 34m / 72 - 110ft

It was sunk on October 21 1999, creating a new dive site for local and visiting divers alike. Approximately 65m / 195ft in length, the Tanya V now rests quietly on a sand bank, making it a good deep dive for experienced, advanced divers. Although it is going to take time and patience for marine life to flourish, already Tanya V has acquired her very own Barracuda.

Top spot Wreck: Hickory
Age: 20 Years
Depth: 10 - 18m / 33 - 60ft

Occupants from this ex-treasure - seeker boat are Spiny Lobster and Trompetfish. Grown with beautiful colorful Corals, that why, it is ideal for UW-Photographer. An old Anchor and old Gun-barrel are next to the Wreck.

Top spot Wreck: Limon
Age: 5 Years
Depth: 12 - 19m / 40 - 64ft

The old Tugboat lies upright next to a Coral garden with lot of fan Coral and Sponges.

Luperon

15 minutes boatride to get to 15 different dive sites. Those beautiful dive sites, grown with colourful Corals, Sponges and hundreds of tropical Fish, are for all divers easy to dive for beginners up to certified divers.
Depths: 6 - 30m / 18 - 100ft

Top spot Wreck: no name (Manzanillo)

Age: 25 Years

Depth: 12 - 24m / 20 - 80ft

Beautiful, upright and nearly intact is the Freighter. Curiously, the Freighter is in two pieces.

Puerto Plata

After a bus ride from 20min to the spectacular white sandy beach of Sosua. From this beach, you will need 5 - 20min to get to 25 different dive sites. Those beautiful dive sites, grown with colorful Corals, Sponges and hundreds of tropical Fish, are for all divers easy to dive for beginners up to certified divers.
Depths: 6 - 42m / 20 - 140ft

Top spot Wall: Airportwall

Depth: 6 - 24m / 20 - 80ft

The wall hosts hurdes of colorful tropical fish and brambles of sponges. Visitors to the spot are...

Top spot: The Caves

Depth: 15 - 24m / 50 - 80ft

 

Two of them to be exact, are recommended for experienced divers yet still give way for very easy maneuverability. Characterized by their grand entrance, they extend approximately 15m / 50 ft. in length at a depth of 24m / 80ft. Cave dwellers include lobster, eel and groupers as well.

 

 

Top spot: 5 Rocks

Depth: 6 - 24m / 20 - 80ft

 

Considered the best location for certified divers at every level. As it's name describes, you will encounter 5 huge underwater rocks replete with splendid displays of coral. The good visibility in this area allows you to feast your eyes on a plentitude of marine life, including Lobster and Crab.

 

 

Top spot: Canyon

Depth: 10 / 33ft

 

Canyon is an ideal checkout dive. This site offers a variety of coral formations such as fan coral and barrel coral, as well as a diversity of marine life including Angel Fish, Sergeant Majors and Yellow-Tail Snapper.

 

 

Top spot: 3 Rocks

Depth: 6 - 17m / 20 - 55ft

This is the most popular shallow dive. You can expect to see an abundance of fish and well-protected coral.

 

Top spot Wall: Larimar

Depth: 10 - 30m / 33 - 100ft

 

Larimar, the name of a semi-precious blue stone found here in the Dominican Republic, identifies this deep dive site where the wall extends from 33ft. to a depth of 60 ft. at which point the scenery changes to a flowing sandy desert where divers easily graduate to 100 ft. You may not discover larimar but you will likely encounter Yellow-Tail Snapper, Sergeant Majors, maybe an eel, and perhaps find lobster and crab as well.

 

 

Top spot: Mini-Wall

Depth: 6 - 20m / 20 - 65ft

 

Is a less intimidating drop for those who have never experienced a wall dive before. The drop-off is a soft descent to a mere 65 ft. with good visibility all the way.

 

 

Top spot: La Puntilla

Depth: 2 - 12m / 6 - 40ft

 

Is suitable for beginner divers. Located just off shore and around the point from Sosua Bay, here you have a chance to see Barracuda, Puffer Fish and Octopus.

 

 

Top spot: The Garden

Depth: 6 - 24m / 20 - 80ft

 

The Garden aptly describes the spectacular and colorful marine life that intermingles with the fan coral and tube sponges. See for yourself just how many varieties you can identify. The Garden extends to a depth of 80 ft., and is considered ideal for all levels of divers.

 

 

Top spot Wreck: Zingara

Age: 11 Jahre

Depth: 23 - 36m / 80 - 120ft

The marine live at the wreck includes many tropical fish, dazzling corals and sponges. You can dive the galley and bridge.

Samana

15 minutes boatride to get to 20 different dive sites. Those beautiful dive sites, grown with Corals, Sponges, Canyon style incisions and hundreds of tropical Fish, are for all divers easy to dive from beginners up to certified divers.
Depths: 6 - 30m / 20 - 100ft

Top spot Cave: Dudu

Max depth: 14m / 45ft
Maximum distant to air: 60m / 200ft

To get in to the cave we start in the jungle and from there goes a tunnel to a lake. From here, we go in to the next tunnel, to a beautiful cave, with a lot stalagtite. At the entry, we have big stalagmite that looks like a big mouth. The lake is full of freshwater shrimps and turtles.
